These are uncertain times. As the world shifts unpredictably and erratic policies emerge from our closest neighbour, many of you feel anxious about the future; it is normal.
But Canada has always shown resilience, and we will do so again. Unity is key.
President Trump threatens our economy and way of life. But we will not be bullied. Canada is stronger than any one U.S. president. Americans do not want this trade war with Canada, and once they feel its impact, they will push back. Until then, we must stand firm and protect our future.
In times like these, leadership matters. Mark Carney is a brilliant economic strategist and a compassionate and proud Canadian. Under his leadership, we will navigate this crisis and emerge stronger. Mark is the leader we need to stand up to Trump. He inspires trust.
A Pierre Poilievre government is too great a risk as he has embraced Trump-style MAGA politics that divide us. Meanwhile, the Bloc remains powerless to protect Quebec’s interests. Now, more than ever, we must stand united across Canada, not fuel division. Quebec must have a strong voice in government, one that stands up to Trump and fiercely defends our culture and values. With your support, I will be that voice, for Pontiac, for Quebec, and for a stronger Canada.
We must act boldly: strengthening our economic and food autonomy, building the strongest G7 economy – one Canadian economy, not thirteen – and deepening ties with Europe, Asia, and Africa while championing our values on the world stage. Pontiac has always been a region of builders and leaders.
Together, we will shape a future where Canada stands tall – united, resilient and strong.
In uncertain times, Pontiac needs steady, experienced leadership.
As Member of Parliament, Sophie Chatel brings global expertise and a proven track record to protect our economy, defend local industries, and strengthen Canada–U.S. relations. Her efforts ensure jobs, resilience, and new trade opportunities for communities across the region.
Sophie is also championing bold climate action, advocating for practical solutions like direct incentives for greener choices, enhanced energy-efficiency programs, and support for clean investment that lowers costs for families and businesses in Pontiac
Her fiscal approach balances responsibility with ambition: investing in housing, infrastructure, clean energy, and technology to create good jobs and build a more resilient future. For Pontiac, this means more affordable homes, better infrastructure, thriving local media, and strong support for farmers, forestry workers, and conservation.
With Sophie Chatel’s leadership, Pontiac moves forward with confidence – toward a greener, more prosperous, and more united future.
Did you know that Gatineau Park has no legal status?
From the moment she was elected as Member of Parliament for Pontiac – Kitigan Zibi, Sophie has been committed to making Gatineau Park a true park! This natural treasure, with its exceptional biodiversity, must be preserved for the community and their children.
This summer, she had the honor of working with Senator Rosa Galvez to draft a bill aimed at protecting Gatineau Park. This bill aims to establish clear official boundaries and preserve the park for the Canadian people, dedicated to their benefit, education, and enjoyment. The park’s ecological integrity will be safeguarded, and it will be maintained and used in a way that ensures it remains intact for future generations.
A Bold Initiative led by Kitigan Zibi for Biodiversity Protection in the Outaouais
“It is our relationship with the land and our desire to protect it for future generations that will unite us as a people.” – Anishinabeg Elder
In preparation for COP15 in Montreal, the Outaouais organized the regional COP15 in November 2022, which led to the creation of Kidjīmāninān – “our canoe” – an initiative led by the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg community in collaboration with local municipalities and environmental organizations. Our ambition: to make the Outaouais a pioneering region in Canada for achieving COP15 biodiversity targets at the regional level, notably by protecting at least 30% of its territory by 2030.
Thanks to Sophie’s leadership and a collective effort, $2 million in funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada was secured to launch the project. This initial phase will allow Indigenous and non-Indigenous partners to begin developing a regional roadmap. By bringing together regional elected officials, Indigenous communities, environmental organizations, industries, and citizens, the initiative fosters collaborative conservation efforts and unites the community around nature protection.
Investing in conservation is also investing in the future—creating jobs, expanding sustainable tourism, and strengthening climate resilience. Together, we are building a greener, more prosperous Outaouais!
From Global to Local and from Local to Global in the Outaouais (coming in 2025)
This guide is aimed at elected officials and offers an innovative approach to inspire them to adopt a similar initiative to “For a Green and Prosperous Outaouais” in their own regions. The goal is clear: to strengthen our country by focusing on local solutions to address global challenges.
The guiding principles of this book include:
Linking national and international policies with their concrete local implementation.
Mobilizing stakeholders for strong collective engagement.
Mutualizing our resources and efforts to maximize their impact.
As a Member of Parliament, Sophie believes it is essential to play a role of positive influence and also act as a catalyst on the ground, turning ideas into concrete community actions. We have a shared responsibility, not only to the communities we represent but also to future generations.
Join Sophie in creating prosperity for all Canadians!
